AP Board cancels annual exam, promote students of class 6 to 9 without exams
AP Board has decided to promote students of Class 6 to 9 without exams this academic year due to COVID19 outbreak. This was announced by A Suresh, minister for education, Andhra Pradesh. The decision to promote students was taken after Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy held a review meeting of the education department along with concerned minister A Suresh and officials.
The Chief Minister ordered the officials to follow the same pattern in Andhra Pradesh as well as adopted by various states of India to promote students of classes 6th to 9th to the next class without conducting an examination.
A Suresh stated 'All schools have already concluded the final examinations till class 5. We will take a call about the class 10 exams, which were scheduled to begin on March 31 but postponed for two weeks, in a review meeting to be conducted on March 31.
Suresh also said that these decisions are taken to ensure that the 2020-21 academic year is not disturbed. CM Reddy also ordered to continue the mid-day meal scheme. and also directed officials to supply dry ration to the students at their doorsteps as the schools are closed till 14 April, 2020.
