Ministry of Human Resource Development directed CBSE, NCERT, NTA to create new academic calendar due to COVID-19 lockdown
The Ministry of Human Resource Development has directed CBSE, NCERT, NTA and NIOS to make alternate calendars due to changes in all examinations and schedules due to COVID-19 lockdown.
That Ministry of Human Resource Development or MHRD has directed CBSE, NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling) and NTA (National Testing Agency) to work on the revised schedule of examinations due to the current coronavirus lockdown. The mandatory CBSE board exams and all the entrance exams of JEE and NEET and recruitment exams has been postponed. This may be the main reason behind the new calender.
According to an ANI report, the ministry also said that autonomous bodies and NCERT should draft an alternative academic calendar.
Offices of Ministry of Human Resource Development to remain closed during lockdown
A release from the Ministry of Human Resource Development also said that the office, autonomous institutions and subordinate offices will follow the instructions of the Ministry of Home Affairs regarding the 21-day lockdown to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Thus, all the offices will be closed for three weeks.
It said that all its officers and employees would work from home.
It added that among the coronavirus lockdowns, the bureau chief and division chief would ensure that all financial matters related to the release, especially salaries and pensions, were approved.
Earlier, there was news that CBSE has not yet taken decision on promotion of studnets to new classes.
