Bihar School Examination Board popularly known as BSEB is a state educational board which is responsible for conducting Class 10 and 12 Board examinations in the state of Bihar. This board is controlled and managed by the Government of Bihar.
Bihar Board conducts examinations at secondary and senior secondary standard in both government and private schools affiliated by the Board. The textbooks of Bihar Board are printed by Bihar State Book Publishing Corporation in which some subjects are loosely based on NCERT.
Other than school examinations, it also conducts departmental examinations such as Diploma in Physical Education, Certificate in Physical Education and Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) for bihar state, Simultala Residential Entrance Examinations, Examination for Diploma in Elementary Education etc.

Class 10
Students need to study five subjects and select one optional. If a student fails to score the minimum qualifying marks in the compulsory subjects, the marks from optional subjects will be adjusted.

Class 12
After passing Class 10, a student has to opt between three streams, science, commerce and humanities. Students need to study subjects are per their selection.
