Along with the number of vacancies on offer, these factors determine your success or failure in that particular bank's exams. This makes banking preparation a bit difficult, as candidates need to prepare for all the exams in order to get a good job.

The most important thing is that each bank doesn't conduct their exam every year and you must be prepared accordingly. Some of these exams like SBI Clerk and PO exams can be attempted more than once in a year, but some might go for a gap of 2-3 years before they conduct their next exam. SBI Bank Exams 

The State Bank of India is the largest public sector bank in the country. It's one of those banks which almost everybody in the country is familiar with. SBI has often been rated as one of the best places to work in because it’s a great platform for professional growth and development. SBI recruits Probationary Officers (PO), Junior Associates (JA), Specialist Officers (SO), and Management Trainees (MT).

SBI PO Exam: The State Bank of India holds the Probationary Officer (PO) examination for the management cadre. The exam can be divided into three stages, Prelims, Mains and Group Discussion/Interview. Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree from a reputable institution or an equivalent education recognized by the Central Government in order to apply for SBI PO.

• Stage I - Prelims exam: It consists of 100 multiple-choice questions in which candidates have to score minimum qualifying marks.

• Stage II - Main exam: Candidates who qualify prelims exam and are selected for further consideration will have to take the main examination. The mains exam consists of 200 multiple-choice questions and an English language descriptive test.

• Stage III - Interview: Candidates who clear preliminary and mains stage will be called for interview and group discussion stage. According to the final score, the merit list will be prepared.

SBI Clerk Exam: The exam will be held in two stages, Prelims and Mains. The questions paper of both stages consist of multiple-choice questions. The merit list will be prepared as per the marks obtained in Mains exam.

SBI SO Exam: The recruitment will be completed by shortlisting candidates based on their qualifications, eligibility, and then a personal interview.

IBPS Exams


Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has been set up for the centralised recruitment of various posts in different banks. The IBPS conducts recruitment examination every year to fill up different vacant posts in banks. Every year, this institution conducts examination for different vacancies such as Probationary Officer (PO), Specialist Officer (SO) and Clerk. There is a separate recruitment process for each of them.

IBPS PO Exam: To appear in IBPS PO exam, one must be a graduate from a recognized university or institute. The IBPS Probationary Officer (PO) Exam will be conducted in three stages, Prelims, Mains and Interview.

• Stage I - Prelims exam: It is also known as the Pre-Exam, which consists of 100 multiple choice questions carrying one mark each and has to be completed within 60 minutes.

• Stage I - Mains exam: The Mains exam will be in two parts, one paper will be objective and other will be descriptive. Only after the objective paper has been approved will the descriptive essay be evaluated. The objective paper consists of 155 multiple choice questions carrying one mark each and has to be completed within 200 minutes. English Language paper will be of 25 minutes.

• Stage III - Interview: The final merit list will be prepared after Interview.

IBPS Clerk Exam: The IBPS Probationary Officer (PO) Exam will be conducted in three stages, Prelims, Mains and Interview.

• Stage I - Prelims exam: The Preliminary exam comprises 100 multiple choice questions. The duration of the prelims are 100 minutes. After clearing this preliminary stage, you need to qualify in the main exam which will be held in the upcoming months.

• Stage II - Mains exam: The IBPS Clerk Mains exam consists of 190 questions of 200 marks in total.

IBPS SO Exam: The IBPS 2020 exam will be conducted in three phases. The first phase is the prelims, the second phase is mains and third is interview. If you appear for the first phase then you need to qualify that as well before appearing for mains examination. The final list will be prepared after the interview.

IBPS RRB Exam: The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection conducts recruitment exams every year to recruit Officer and Office Assistant in Regional Rural Banks (RRBs). RRBs are the branches of banks that work mainly in rural and semi-urban areas. The aim of IBPS is to introduce a system of common recruitment in these RRBs so that they can have a standardised process of recruitment every year and also to provide benefits for the rural officers in terms of promotional avenues. There exam will be held in two stages, Prelims and Mains exam.

RBI Exams


RBI is the Central Bank for the country and also the regulator in many ways. It controls and regulates in all matters related to banking system and its operations throughout the country. RBI is considered as an important institution of India, which promotes economic development in this country.

RBI Officer Grade B Exam: RBI Officer Grade B Exam is an important exam in the career of bank officers. A bachelor's degree with a minimum of 60% (55% for SC/ST/PWD) or an upper-level bachelor's degree and a passing grade on the 10th (or Diploma or equivalent) and 10th standard examinations is required in order to appear for this exam. The exam will be held in three phases, I, II and Interview.

• Phase I is a general exam comprise of 200 marks and of 2 hours.

• Phase II: Both objective and descriptive type papers will be used in Phase II, Paper I (Economic and Social Issues) and III (Finance and Management). Objective types make up 50% of the questions, while descriptive types account for 50%. The objective test will be held for 30 minutes while descriptive paper will be conducted for 90 minutes.

• Interview: Before being invited to an interview, potential candidates must pass a psychometric test. There are no points for this exam and it will not affect the outcome of the selection process. The interview will be assessed at 75 marks.

The RBI Assistant exam: It is a clerical level exam used to recruit individuals for the post of Assistant in various departments and ranks at the Reserve Bank of India. The selection process includes a preliminary exam followed by a mains exam and a Language Proficiency Test.

NABARD Exams


The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development is an all India Apex Organization, wholly owned by the Government of India, was set up in 1982 with the responsibility of financing agricultural activities. Nabard acts as a catalyst to enhance rural assets, provide credit for rural development and help build the rural economy by providing support to viable projects including food processing units. This institution recruits Assistant Managers for their various operations.
